LAC Vision Trip Update | July 5-15

Due to the sensitive nature of our International Workers serving in Creative Access areas, their names and locations will not be mentioned.

DAYS 1 & 2

Travel and logistics went smoothly, with a warm welcome from long-term workers and a good first debrief despite jet lag. Day one included a local church visit, lunch with hosts, and adjusting to the climate and later daily rhythm.

Day two has the team split between the English camp (with a visiting California church) and school building setup (moving furniture into the new school building that will open in the fall and cleaning out the old building), with plans to learn more from the school's founders and from the California team's broader ministry model.

Overall theme: relationship and conversation with workers is itself part of the ministry, alongside the practical help.

DAY 3

Travel day! The day started early and then were transported by a high speed train to meet with IWs who work with an international immigration population. Listened and learned about their relationship-oriented work over coffee and lunch. Afterward they showed us a few unique or interesting spots in the city, including a very old church. Afterward, we headed back to the high speed train, returning to our lodging very late at night.
